The Emergency Food Assistance Program (“TEFAP”) is a federally funded program that provides USDA foods to low-income households through a monthly supplemental food distribution. Clients must bring a picture ID and may pick up the commodities any time during our regular operating hours once per month.
If picking up your monthly commodities distribution is a hardship, you may authorize a designated proxy to pick it up on your behalf. You must complete and return the approved USDA Proxy Form. Proxy Forms will remain active for 1 year unless revoked.
All clients are eligible to receive TEFAP foods. We do require clients to specify (“yes” or “no”) during their visits to whether they are currently enrolled in one of the following programs:
- Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
- SNAP (formerly food stamps)
- Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
- Old Age Pension (OAP)
- Aid to Needy Disabled (AND)
- Aid to the Blind (AB)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Medicaid Eligible Foster Children
